Choice

I was rushing to sort-out my cousin's wedding card and i was distracted by a yummylicious smell. there it was, Famous Amos. I look around, and i saw Auntie Anne's.

What would you choose?

The moist brownies

or the pretzels?

To me, a combination of almond and choc are perfection.

Happy Birthday

On this special day
I wanted to send
A most special greeting
To a most special friend.

I want to recall
The adventures we've had,
The friendship we've shared
Through the good times and bad.

We've grown up together
For so many years,
Through 'Lecture notes' and dreams lost,
Through laughter and tears.

And on this great occasion
I'd like to speak my heart.
To tell you what you mean to me
In no uncertain part.

A friend that I treasure always,
Giving you my hugs and kisses.
For lots of joy throughout your life
You have my greatest wishes.

Happy Birthday Jaja

It's a girl!

Wednesday, 21st November 2007 - After 8 hours in labor, my sister in-law gave birth to a cute baby gal.

Welcome to the world, Nur Tasneem!

Yes, No, Erm, Huh

I am a very easygoing person. I am a person who can take “No” as an answer and move on.

One thing that exceeds my toleration is when it involves arrangement. and promises. I understand that plan sometimes don’t go as per what we have expected, but the only way to handle this situation is by being honest –throughout the time.

I was in a situation whereby I specifically asked the person to accompany me somewhere for something that is rather important. The person was notified way in advance.

Giving hope but not showing up is rude, and I specifically dislike an effortless note such as “Sorry I was busy” after keeping me puzzled for few hours.

I think it’s rather easy for us to take a moment, think about it, plan, and give a solid answer. Yes or No. If you can't promise, say so. If you are hooked up, tell me and apologise. Skip the erm, huh..

Cheers!

Fiasco

Last week was totally insane. I think it was my #2 busiest week for this year. Work occupied most of my day, and every other thing during the evening.

It would be far too long (and tiring) for me to list down what I did. I'll try make it short.

1. Christmas deco.
It’s a “Profit making hobby” me & Fedo share. The client liked what we did last year and informed that we’ll be getting the project again this year. Unfortunately, they want the whole thing to be ready by Friday noon. And when did we get to know this news? Monday. We had 3 days to put up huge deco in a gigantic place!

This is by far our biggest project, and we have to make sure our deliverables are as per our standard. We got 2 of our friends to help out. To get everything for this project, we went:

1. Carrefour (Maluri) – twice
2. Kamdar (Jalan Tar) – once
3. Tesco (Ampang) –Twice
4. Carrefour (Wangsamaju) –Once
5. SSF (Jalan Tar) –Once
6. Pasar Borong Chow Kit –Once

We also went to a “festive-deco” shop along Jalan Ampang, a wood shop near pandan indah and few more shops along the way.

It might sound easy, but imagine, we’re all busy with our work, and we can only start the shopping around 8.00pm. That means we only had 2 hours per day to shop. Have you watched explorace? Now i know how they feel.

Pictures of the deco is not ready. I will post another entry on the deco.

2.My sister in-law gave birth to a cute baby gal.
She was in labor for 8 hours and my family was here. I had to run between work and deco to see them.

3. A friend was getting married.
I had to get something done for her. It promised way in advance and couldnt turn it down.

And the week ended with a trip to Singapore.

Go figure!

My "Under-Construction" Dream

Woke up pretty late as I had the usual Saturday hangouts with friends. Spent some time staring at my trashy room.

My schedule has been pretty crazy lately and I don’t have ample time to sit down and clear things up. My other problem is, I come home with some stuff (paperbags, gifts, souvenirs, magazines, books, the list go on and on and on…) every single day.

At the end of the month, I will have at least 30 new stuff in my room. I need a bigger space.

My under-construction dream; my apartment, is expected to be ready by 2009. Can I survive 2 years? Well, I don’t have a choice.

I decided to go pay a visit. I dragged Fedo & Azli with me. The last time I went to check that place out was about 2 weeks ago. Not much progress. My friends must be thinking that I’m crazy. They were giggling all the way, especially when I interviewed one of the Indonesian dude at the construction site. Hey, i have the rights to know what's happening!

According to him, some section has completed the ground level. I asked him why nobody is working at that point of time. The answer was "It's Sunday". Whoaaaa.... I thought they normally work every day?

Below are pictures of the current situation

This is how it's gonna look like, super-duper gazzillion mins from now

New Toy!!

I got myself a new toy! It's something i've been eyeing for quite sometime. It's a cure for my online addiction.

Yeah baby, i got myself a Maxis Broadband. Now i can go online anywhere and anytime! I am posting this entry at home, on my bed. And i'm lovin it!

I was looking for a broadband to fullfill my professional requirement as well as my online cravings for quite some time. And when i saw Celcom's advertisement on TV, i was pretty sure that i will go for that.

However, i was a little dissapointed to know that despite their "ONLY RM68" campaign, the tiny modem itself costs RM1299.

***

I was rusing to a store near my office and since it's Thursday, i had to go through the pasar malam (night market) at the courtyard. I was distracted by the word "broadband" and decided to stop buy.

I was shocked when the sales dude told me that the modem is FREE. All you need to pay is RM100 registration and fixed monthly chare of RM138.

After a good 25 mins Q&A session with that dude, i decided to go for it. I told Pui Fuen about it and she came down to have a look.

Pui Fuen with the sales person

Pui Fuen : How long has this product been in the market?
Salesperson: I think it's been a year.
Pui Fuen: Are you sure?
Salesperson: I'm not too sure, but i join Maxis about 5 months ago, and this product is already there.

10 mins later

Salesperson: Sorry, wrong info. This product is about 1 month
Pui Fuen: Aiyoooh....Product knowledge!!!

She was really intrerested as well, but her husband is not really keen. We decided to let me test it for week and see how it goes.

**

On my way back to office, i bum into Ann. We were classmates back in Uni, and she was known as "Ann Hugo" (She hosted the programme called Hugo). Now she is doing really well as a Deeejay/ TV host / Actress. It was a short but nice cathing-up session.

Me and Ann

Dinner was at my Uncle's restaurant. It was heavenly! My uncle always feed me with stuff that is beyond my capacity!

I had this. Times 3!

Cheers!

Interviews & visits

SingleTrackMind concert is happening this Friday at the Hard Rock Cafe. I brought Alex for interview with NST & Malay Mail.

Our first interview was with Radin Sri, a cool & happening journalist who is passionate about music. She know almost everything and she's been to big music festivals.

During the interview, we found out that she is from Kuching.

Through my experience in this line, there are few things i discovered about perople from Kuching:
1. They are very friendly
2. They are cool & happening
3. They know everyone in Kuching. Pick a name, and somehow they know each other

Alex is from Kuching as well, so, they click almost instantly. After the interview, the conversation was about "The best coffee in Kuching", "The best club in Kuching" and "do you know......?".
I am not from Kuching, and i have been there only once (FYI, it was just a 1 day trip) but i enjoyed looking at people talking about it. and i think i must go there again.

Radin Sri

Alex

Strike a pose! Hahaha

Later on, we paid a visit to the NST team. I met Dennis, who is a very kind person. He interviewed Alex few months back and it was great!

Me & Alex : Hi Dennis
Dennis : Hi Malik, Alex [He calls me Malik all the time!]
Me : It’s Aziz.
Dennis : Oh ya, so sorry.
Me : It’s Ok.
Dennis : Wishing you a belated hari raya Aziz, and for you Alex, Merry Christmas in advance.

We invited him to the concert, and he included the concert in the upcoming calender section of the newspaper.

Dennis writing about the concert

Later on, we went for the 2nd interview, which was with Malay Mail. I was busy meeting people there, and forgot to snap pics!

Since we're already there, i went to say hi to the rest of the editors. Not fogetting, a dear friend who is a journalist at Harian Metro, Yanie. She is such a darling!

Me and Yanie :)

Well, It's gonna be a very busy week.
