Interesting

I was at Marche for dinner not too long ago and as i was queuing to pay, I saw something very interesting. Have a look:

It's the licence. Is there such word as "Establisymen"?? I really don't think that word exist in Bahasa Melayu.

It just sound so wrong!

***

And last night, i was at MaxValu to buy some stuff. It was my first visit and i took a short tour to compare if they really offer maximum value to customers (That's what the name mean right?)

A quick browse and i didn't find the maximum or even extra value at all. But that's not the point, have a look below:

Hari Raya cookies.. Selling for RM23.90 per box.

Let's have a closer look..

VVIP, VIP AND CELEBRITY CHOICES... Wow....

Do you think anyone would be convinced with that statement?

Buka Puasa @ Taiwan

Fedo and Azli came a long way with this place. They've been dining there for so many years. It's called Taiwan House, near Ampang point. According to them, this place is rather famous. I've been there about 5-6 times.
I'm not really a fan of noodles. But this place is not bad.

As i was on my way, someone called

Me: Hello
Liena: Hi. Where are you?
Me: On my way to Ampang Point.
Liena: Aah! Buka puasa there?
Me: Yeap. Wanna join?
Liena: Where are you guys going?
Me: Taiwan House
Liena: WTF? For buka puasa?
Me: Yeah.. Wanna join?
Liena: No thanks. Bye

Haha. She's not into it at all. Let's check out the food.

This is Fedo's. Some seafood noodle

And this is Azli's. It's the tiny little transparent noodles.

And this is mine. Chicken. No soup.

I forgot what this was

Chicken wings. The sauce is really good

Every meal comes with a drink. And since all the food here is classified as "Healthy Food", same applies with drinks. I ordered another drink. It was 100 plus (Still healthy right?)

Oh yeah, i had these for dessert. Haha..

It was fun, for a change.

Happy Birthday

This blog is now 1 year old! I must say, it’s been very interesting and rewarding. I'm glad I decided just to just go ahead with it.

I’ve been reading blogs for the longest time and had always wanted to have one for myself. I had one few years back but it was too personal. All my deepest & darkest secret were there and after a while, I decided to just abandon it.

And I told myself to create another blog. The transition period took nearly 1 ½ years. I was browsing my phone one day and realized I had pictures of fondest moments with my friends (from 2004!). Every single picture has it’s own story and I don’t have any medium to store it. The memory card could just corrupt within a split second.

That is when and how I got started.

This blog is for me to articulate my celebration of life, what I really meant to light up is the cherished love, continuous exhilaration, diverse views, and priceless experience I encounter in a simple daily life.

I am blessed to discover wonderful people with different means in life and travel along the path to witness diversified culture. My journey in this big city and meeting people (super bigshots, celebrities, politicians, best-friends, soulmate, colleagues, bitches, crazy people, drama queens etc etc) has truly been an amazing experience; each providing a source of inspiration to better my undertaking and to hold fast to the civilization that bind us.

I find each elements of this life extremely valuable, and it would be a waste to let it expire with my memory. I prefer it to be shared, collective and above all, recorded.

This is my blog and I love it. Happy birthday
~Cheers!

Silent Treatment

I found an interesting article on this subject:

What You Are Saying By Not Saying Anything At All

Probably at one time or another you have been either on the giving or receiving end of a silent treatment, otherwise known as the cold shoulder. What you probably didn’t realize is that the silent treatment is a form of ostracism. When someone is ostracized it affects the part of their brain called the anterior cingulate cortex.

Do you know what the anterior cingulate cortex does? The anterior cingulate cortex is the part of the brain that detects pain. When you give someone the silent treatment you are causing that person physical pain. Simply by ignoring someone else’s existence you can inflict pain on them. This is what the ever popular “time out” with a child is so effective. The child feels ostracized, therefore is feeling pain even though no physical pain was inflicted on them, and therefor they want to behave so they don’t have to feel that way again.

The silent treatment can be a very destructive behavior when it involves personal relationships. Let’s say with a husband and wife for instance. The silent treatment breeds bitterness on both ends and it borders on emotional abuse… I’m not making that up to be dramatic. That’s what “they” say.

Cooling Off And Ostracizing Are Two Very Different Things
Let’s not confuse the silent treatment with something known as “the cooling off period”. The cooling off period is where one person is so angry or disgusted by the other person that they just cannot deal with the situation in that state need time to calm down before they begin to speak to this person. That’s fine and actually that’s probably better than sitting and screaming at each other.

There is a big difference between taking some time to cool down and outright ignoring the existence of the other person. The silent treatment would be more along the lines of you doing something that pisses someone off, they clue you in on it (or not), and then they don’t speak to you, acknowledge you or even make eye contact with you for sometimes days. No good.

To me, this is a form of torture. Nothing positive comes from this type of behavior. What makes more sense…blowing up about something, cooling off a little and then talking about how to resolve it OR not blowing up about something, staying completely pissed and not doing anything to help resolve the situation? If you said the latter… you’re a dick.

When someone is administering the silent treatment they are trying to show that they are dominant over you. The silent treatment (when it becomes a mutual one) is a power struggle in pain tolerance…whomever the winner is, cares less.

Save Water

I've settled all of my bills for this month, except for water. A quick check on my mailbox and found it today. It's always the last bill to arrive. God knows why.

I was a little suprised to look at the bill this time. Why? Have a look below:

The amount is RM 0.00. I was a little puzzled.

Did I pay extra the last time? No.
Have we stop using water at home? Hell No

And then I saw this note:

"Bekalan air 20M3 pertama adalah dibayar oleh KDEB bagi pengguna di negeri selangor sahaja bermula 1 Jun 2008"

It says: Water supply of the first 20M3 is paid by KDEB for users in Selangor as of 1st June 2008.

I remember reading it on the newspapers but never thought it's possible. Whoa... Thanks KDEB!

Moral of the story: Save water and you can have it for free.

Buka Puasa 060908

The plan was to gather at my place and go buy food at the Ramadhan Bazaar. Going out to the bazaar can be really entertaining. Later on, we shall just hang out at my place.

However, all of us were having the lazy saturday mood. We only got on the phone at 5.30 and re-confirm the plan. By then, it was a rather late. With the crazy traffic, Liena could barely make it on time.

So, me & Fedo went out to the Bazaar and decide what to get for everyone. We try not to go crazy as we always end up with loads of food... in the garbage bag.

We all went for Chicken Rice, some kuih, honey dew, ikan bakar & some other stuff (Fedo & liena's). We had watermalon juice & ABC as well.

Liena got at my place just on time and as we heard the Azan, we had our buka puasa together.

Wish the other half of us is there..

And then, we went to Cavenzi coz i saw in Malay Mail that they are having some crazy midnight sale. It was indeed a crazy sale!

This bed is priced at RM1299 with the matress. Without the matress, it's RM699. And what's the sale price? RM99. Yes. Beleive it.

This cozy lounge chair is priced at RM199. Sale price = RM69

I didn't want to buy any new furniture coz I'll be moving to my new apartment next year (and i already have the concept for it) but the sale was just far too crazy.

Fedo: Well, you can buy now. And if you think it wont suit your apartment, just throw it away, It's only RM99!
Liena: For god sake Aziz, it's just RM99!
Me: Ok, pack it now!

It turns out that they have to order it for me and it will be delivered in 2 weeks time. Whatever.

We went home feeling all happy and satisfied. We stop by 7-11 to get some stock

A quick check on our DVD collection and found out that at least one of us have watched every movie. We were too lazy to go out to look for DVD so we proceeded with a visit to neighboor's house. They are the best people to live nextdoor. Just imagine, Liena could click with them since we first introduce them. And that night, my other neighboor even gave liena a perfume!

Ok, a little out of the topic there. So, we went to check their DVD stock. Everyone is up to horror/scary movie so we end up with this one:

Honestly, the poster sucks. I could never be attracted to it. But it was a great movie. Damn good one.

It wasn't one of the lavish proper dinner thing, but i must say, it was pefect. The main dish of the night was the company. It is not everyday that you get the chance to have dinner with your best friends. Simply heartwarming!

Patience

It was the second day or Ramadhan. I was on my way home from office and swing by a Ramadhan Bazaar near Desa Pandan. It's a huge bazaar so I decided to park at the very end of the road. There was ample parking space as everyone wanted to park in the bazaar itself.

It was a proper parking spot and I was completely in the box. I proceeded with my joy walk and decided to get some murtabak. Had to queue for 15mins for that.

And then i found myself at a Briyani stall. They have sold out the Chicken so I settled with beef; simply because I couldn't think of something else and time was running out. It was RM8.00; which is a little overpriced for bazaar.

As I was walking back to my car, I knew I won't be going there again coz there was just too many people, food is about the same and plus, it's overpriced.

And then i saw this:

Yes. My car.
Some idiot smashed my car and just dissapear. I completely dont understand how did it happen. It was a parking area. That person must be stupid or mentally retarded. Or just a lousy driver. Or all of it!

Iwent home angry. Buka puasa also angry. God must be testing me. You know, it's Ramadhan, we are suppose to sabar.... Ini semua dugaan...

I quickly arrange for a cosmetic treatment. (The next day)

This guy is pretty good and smooth

You can see the scars though

I know it's bad to curse. And plus i'm suppose to look at this as a test. Besides, it's not that bad. However, I couldnt help saying this *Biar kereta kau rosak time balik raya!*

Where to Buka Puasa?

Remember i wrote about my superb buka puasa session at Planet Hollywood last year? Ok, you can click here if you want. I was there for buka puasa 4 times. First was with Liena, Azli and Fedo, then with my family, and then with Zaff and another last round with the gang.

If you are wondering of where to buka puasa, you really should consider going to Planet. They have the best buffet spread and suprisingly, the cheapest in town!

Last year the price was RM33++ and guess what? Despite the increase of fuel (and every other thing), Planet's buka puasa buffet is still the same! (I really wonder how they make profit).

I'm definitely going this year. Just haven't figure out who to go with.

~Cheers!

Stars Galore

One fine day not too long ago, I buzz Fedo (The so-called contributor for this blog).

Me: Hey Fedo. W’ssup?
Fedo: Aah, nothing much. I’m just hanging out with Peter Pan, Ungu, Slank, Sheila on 7, Dewi – Dewi and Melaney Subowo.
Me: Haha..very funny. How about Inul? (Being cynical)
Fedo: She’s not here. Too bad.
Me: Okay, for real, what are you doin?
Fedo: I’m hanging out with Indonesian’s stars.
Me: Really? (Being suspicious)
Fedo: Okay, got to go. I’ll show you the pics later

By the end of the conversation, I was quite definite that he’s just pulling my leg. I was wrong, and requested Fedo to fulfill his responsibility as a contributor. So, here you go:

It’s quite a long time I haven’t written anything on this blog as a contributor. Sorry Aziz. The workload and travelling made me choose sleeping from anything else. Hahaha.

Last week, I was assigned to handle the stars of Malam Indonesia upon arrival in KL. I greeted Peter Pan, Ungu, Slank, Sheila on 7, Dewi – Dewi and Melaney Subowo from the aircraft. Then I brought them to proceed with meet & greet session at the concourse area of LCCT. I don’t really know all of them but to be with them for a half day is quite an experience.

Most of them are very quiet; I guess the flight from Jakarta made them feel sleepy and tired. Being me, I don’t care. You have to be ready to take pictures with me even if you having a bad hair day. Hahahaha…so people.. enjoy the pictures !!
