Progress

I'm pleased with the progress of my dream home. Lets check it out.

June 2007 -I finally inked the agreement and marked my unit on my 7th visit to the show gallery

November 2007 -It was just a piece of land.

February 2008 - The groundwork
25th December 2009 - The entire structure completed. Windows & balcony installed, and half of it has been painted.

Im no professional but I think its about 85% completed.

I cant wait to move in! I roughly know what i want to do with the interior, just waiting for the time to pull things together.

Oh yeah, i should start cracking my head and make my "wish list" soon. hehe.. It's a list of things i want for the house -for my beloved family & friends to buy... lol!

~Cheers!

UPDATE: Someone created a group page on Facebook for Ampang Putra Residency. If you are one of the buyer, lets join the circle by clicking here!

Merry Xmas!

Give and share with the ones you love today. Eat and drink to your heart's content knowing you already have the exercise program that will burn it off.

For at least this one day a year people are nice to one other, so this is a good time to rekindle bonds :P

Merry Xmas!!

Kinokuni-Yeah!!

How long does it take for you to find and buy a book?

I know some people can spend hours in the bookstore. I like to just go straight to the point. (Coz i have the tendency to overspend!)

So, to save time, i like to do my research first. Google the book, get the ISBN number and then go to Kinokuniya's website.

Their searching method is rather comprehensive. You will be able to check the availibility of the book and location. It will also indicate how many copy is available at the specific outlet.

With few clicks, i found out the book i was looking for was available at KLCC.

You should know that the store is massive and looking for a book can be quite challenging. This self-serve machine is really useful.

Step 1: Select the type of book.

Step 2: key in the ISBN number.

Step 3: The machine will print out the exact location of your book.

Step 4: Find the aisle as per the number & map

Step 5: Go To the aisle

Step 6: Take your book and go to the counter to pay!

I was rather free, so i clock the time. In total, it took me 6 minutes to use the machine, locate the book and proceed with payment. Good huh?

Vietnam Retreat -Tuan Chau Island

Tuan Chau is an island of Ha Long city in Quang Ninh province. It is about 130 km distant from Hanoi city, which takes 2hours to go by cars.

I know the 2 hours may seem like a long trip, but honestly, it was worth it! You should spend a night there because there are just too many interesting places to visit.

Ha Long Bay is already a must-visit spot, and Tuan Chau is just another 20-mins drive.

Its an Island created for tourism, so, you can expect a non-stop entertainment there! Among things to check out are:

  • Whales, seals, sea lions music performances.
  • A circus
  • A crocodile performance club,
  • An artificial beach with over 4km length
  • A Vietnamese culinary area
  • A water recreation park including activities such as pulling parachutes by canoe, skating water by motors with high speed, etc.
  • Services of visiting Ha Long bay by tourist ships, canoes.
  • Services of visiting Ha Long bay by rotor aircrafts.
  • A high tech water fountain with music playing, laser lighting, film showing on the water screen appearing the first time in Vietnam.

I spent the whole day visiting Ha Long Bay, so the only thing I could at night was to check out the fountain park. And it was magnificent!

It was a huge show equipped with the very best technology. I didn’t understand a single word said by the characters, but I understood the story line.

It was fantastic! If you are planning to visit Vietnam, make sure to include Tuan Chau Island in your trip! You will not regret.

Check out their website here!

Vietnam Retreat - Temple of Literature

This temple is a famous historical and cultural relic in Hanoi. It’s located at Van Mieu Street, which is within the city centre itself.

This is not just an ordinary temple, it is also Vietnam's first university. It was built in 1070 in honour of Confucius, his followers and Chu Van An, which is a moral figure in Vietnamese education.

The temple preserves historical vestiges of a 1,000-year-old civilization. The Emperor established a unique tradition; of carving the names of the laureates of the university on stone steles that were placed on top of stone tortoises. Im not quite sure why tortoise but its certainly cute.

To be honest, i'd love to study there. The place is just extremely peaceful. There were huge green area with beautiful water features and trees.

If you are planning to visit, check out the details:

Vietnam Retreat -Halong Bay

I was told that one of the things to do in Vietnam is to visit the Halong Bay. Now that I have been there, I’d like to say it’s a must!

Halong Bay is beautiful beyond words. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy nature at its best, Halong Bay is the place.

It is made up of 1,969 islands of various sizes. This densely concentrated zone of stone islands, world famous for its spectacular scenery of grottoes and caves has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

While exploring the bay, you feel lost in a legendary world of stone islands. There is Man's Head Island, which resembles a man standing and looking towards the mainland. Dragon Island looks like a dragon hovering above the turquoise water. And there was also a kissing island (as I was told).

The best way to explore natural wonder is to take the cruise.

We took the Victory Cruise. It’s a comfortable 42 meter cruise. I took a day trip but if you are planning to spend a night there, the cruise has 21 luxurious cabins with private bath, air conditioning, etc. Well, you’ll get all the amenities and services you would expect from a three-star hotel.

Lunch looks good on the cruise as well.

But since I don’t eat seafood, and meat is usually non-halal, I had to go for the simple stuff…

It was one of the most peaceful place I have ever been. And I’d love to go back there with my friends (party on the cruise? Hell yeah!)

Let's check out some pics i took:

This girl jumped into out boat to sell bananas

This is a School. Hard to beleive? Yeap its true
